I’ve been working in construction for over 25 years. My first construction job was in high school working on breaks and weekends with my best friend and his father. After attending Finger Lakes Community College for a short period, I chose to pursue a career in construction. I’ve had a passion for building since day one.

I established Russell Builders with my uncle “Joe” in 2006. We were “construction guys” with little to no business experience. After Joe’s passing in 2012, I continued independently. In 2017 I was in search of a highly skilled and experienced finish carpenter who had the capabilities to complete complex tasks flawlessly. This is not easy to find, but how I met my current partner, Ken Snyder. After two years of independently working together on projects, we decided to combine our businesses. Our ideology in business and life are in-line. Our goal is to be the best builders in the Finger Lakes region. To be the first choice for every reason. Throughout our careers, we have both been trying to escape the stereotypical view of the construction business. We are both honest, highly skilled, professional hardworking men who chose a career we loved. We strive to provide exceptional service to customers as if we were them. Being selected to manage large projects is a huge commitment that we don’t take lightly. In return, we feel it’s our responsibility and obligation to reciprocate that commitment. Every purchase, decision, and recommendation we make on our projects is based on that commitment. Ken and I have worked together to establish systems and processes that are extremely efficient and transparent. It’s important to us that our customers know where their investment is going and have a choice to tailor that investment to what’s best for them. We have a top-notch crew and team of subcontractors that has taken many years to curate. Because of this, we can execute large, complex, one-of-a-kind builds efficiently at the very highest level. Our hard-working team creates a positive, customer-friendly work environment that takes enormous pride in their work. Our men and their families are proud of what we’ve accomplished and continue to accomplish. I’m proud. For the past 25 years my business was mainly focused on high-end kitchen and bathroom remodeling where I developed a reputation as an honest, conscientious craftsman focused on delivering exceptional work at a fair price. I conducted business, and all that entails, while executing the vast majority of the work on my own preferring to manage my projects to completion.

I first met Chris Russell in 2017 on an extensive rehabilitation project that he was managing in the Fingerlakes region. I spent about 7+ months on the site and was tasked with historical millwork fabrication & trim finishes, kitchen cabinetry and custom built-ins for several areas throughout the main house and addition. Working with Chris during that period allowed me to spend time with other like-minded tradesmen who shared the same approach to their work. The ultimate goal for all of us was to be good stewards of our customers’ resources, and focus on the details. I immediately felt part of the RB team. After a few more projects together our conversation turned to joining forces and taking on more complex builds together. As a result, I joined the RB team in the fall 2019.

With over 40 years in the construction trades I bring a breadth of experience to Russell Builders that runs the gambit from all aspects of new home construction including budgeting and initial planning through finishes. I earned a BA (Cum Laude) in Economics in 1998, graduating as a Dean’s List Student from the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School with a minor in Finance, and I have applied many of those time management and quantitative reasoning skills to my current duties as PM. I am onsite most days feeding accurate and timely information to our core team, and our extensive subcontractor partners who understand the importance of our “hands on” approach. I am able to communicate effectively with our clients with an emphasis on maintaining overall budget objectives and timelines for each project, no matter how extensive the Scope of Work. I continue to personally manage the final finishes and enjoy working with customers to refine their plan while we see it come to fruition.

C-2 celebrates his 1-year anniversary with Russell Builders as we come to the end of the 2024 calendar year. Cody has an extensive background in homebuilding from new home framing through finishes. Cody spent the past 12 years as lead installer for a custom Bath acrylic component manufacturer and brings a detail-oriented focus to every aspect of his daily duties. C-2, like all of our guys, is great with our customers and brings an infectious level of enthusiasm to our team. C-2 integrated seamlessly into the RB culture and is an indispensable part of our construction family.
